VOLVO EW240E | VEHICLE FIRE SUPPRESSION
We recently installed our Dual Agent Automatic Fire Suppression System on a Volvo EW240E, delivering maximum fire protection for high-risk waste and recycling operations.
How Fireward’s Dual Agent System Works
Our Dual Agent system combines dry powder and wet chemical suppression for complete fire protection. Dry powder delivers rapid flame knockdown, while the wet chemical cools hot surfaces to prevent reignition. Suppression agents are discharged through a network of nozzles in the engine bay, triggered by a strategically placed pneumatic detection tube that bursts when exposed to flame, releasing pressure and activating the system.
System highlights:
Dry Powder – Fast flame knockdown and deep fire penetration
Wet Chemical – Cools hot components to prevent reignition
Pneumatic Detection Network – Tube bursts under heat to trigger system
Indirect Release System – Agents discharged through nozzles to target risk areas
Additional Features:
Battery Isolation – Disconnects power to minimise electrical fire risk
Engine Shutdown – Stops the machine to prevent fuel-fed fire spread
Manual Actuator – Gives operators manual control in emergencies
